There was that strange title again. "You may call me by my name." He paused, "If you'd like.." Adding as after thought, realizing that the first part sounded like a command. Though it wasn't intentional. He was a warrior and a leader, his voice reflected that status in it's abruptness sometimes. He was not always adept with polite conversational cues. But he tried. And he hadn't scared her off yet, so she was giving him the opportunity to get a bit better at it. And if the title was what she preferred to call him, he wasn't going to protest; though it did seem a bit formal.
Thor inclined his head in a nod of thanks at her agreement to travel the area a bit with him. She may have been familiar with their surroundings, but she was still willing to join him as he explored, and for that he was grateful. He realized then that maybe she had other things to be doing at the moment, other places to be. On top of that, he wondered why she had been at the market alone. Not that it was terribly uncommon for goddesses to travel on their own; but she had the air of someone who was new to the area in general, and she hadn't reacted to being stolen from in a way that many goddesses would have.
There were a lot of questions.
But they had just started out walking, and as he turned his head to gaze down at her, he forgot his questions entirely. He took in her appearance closely, eyes drifting across her face in an open an study of the details; because they were lovely details, and there was no reason to hide his appreciation. The sunlight brought out the warmth of her features, and the rich, dark color of her eyes and hair. There were a scattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose and cheeks, another unique detail he hadn't before seen on any other goddesses, and found to be quite appealing. Her skin was a tone that was deeper than most of those he had met from her pantheon. She looked, for lack of a better term, completely foreign from what he was accustomed to. It was as though she might have belonged to another pantheon entirely, rather than Greek.
He'd been told once that staring was rude; though he didn't understand why.
He remembered one of his questions then. He was curious about her patronage, and was about to ask; when she fielded him with a question before he could vocalize his own. And as he was about to answer, she tugged on his sleeve and halted her movements. Naturally, he responded to this immediately by preparing himself for the imminent and unseen threat. His posture stiffened as he followed the direction of her gaze; soon finding the source of her reaction and realizing his own was unwarranted. There were many wolves throughout the woods surrounding his home, though he didn't often have the opportunity to observe one quite so young. He wished for a moment his daughter was here to witness it, she always had a fondness for animals. So did Thor; and it was that fondness that caused him to stand still and simply observe for a moment.
But the cub's mother would undoubtedly be close by, and would not appreciate their scent in the air; so Thor smiled, tilting his head towards her and managing to lower his voice to something that resembled a whisper, a rare occurrence; not wanting to disturb the cub. "We should not linger, the mother won't be far and she may not take kindly to our presence."
