Loki let go of her and sort of smirked knowingly. Even if her long statement about how horrid this woman, Jondi, was that Bragi 'loved', Idun hadn't given him a legitmate reason to believe that this woman Bragi was courting was anything other than worthy of him. Her name wasn't poetic. That was the only reason Idun had given. That didn't signify that this woman was bad for Bragi as much as...
“I'm not jealous. Just concerned.”
“Right,” Loki answered her and moved past her to go investigate how damaged her pastry was. It had to be in here somewhere. “You're not jealous,” He was smiling as he nosed around her kitchen. Women didn't usually get up in arms about a man unless they wanted that man for themselves. Something that seemed to happen when the man was suddenly rather unavailable. Women were jealous creatures. “Jealousy is a terrible thing, Squirt. It fills your stomach with acid and bile, it forces you to see the negative when really, things aren't so bad, it's distracting and consumes your thoughts.”
He picked up a stray bit of utensil, something he was unused to. He didn't have a woman in his hall, though, so a lot of what he had was just what was required for him to cook enough to survive. Loki played with it a bit as he continued, “Jealousy ruins a person, it leads them to do things they wouldn't normally do.” And Loki spoke from experience.
“It's a good thing you aren't jealous, then. Wouldn't want you to ruin a perfectly good pastry or anything.” He was teasing and not looking at her. He was still playing with the unknown utensil.
He couldn't for the life of him figure out what it was or what it was used for. Glut hadn't had one of these as far as he knew. Maybe she did now. They were divorced long enough that it didn't really matter. Angrboda... well... Loki hadn't been brave enough to actually go into her kitchen. He was rather afraid a shovel full of coals from the hearth would have been thrown in his face over some stupid little thing she always overreacted about. So he held it up and looked at her, “What is this?”
