He heard the crunch of snow and her cry out as she fell, and a small part of him wanted to turn around and make sure she was okay. Loki didn't actually wish her physical harm, just that she'd learn a lesson about being mean to him without reason. And get her arrogance in check. The other part of him new that getting to the cave before her was far more important to ensure that she learn her lesson. He kept plodding along, and he heard her coming after him.. maybe to smack him, maybe to shove him. But Loki did not expect what happened next.
There was a sudden very forceful shove of pressure against his back. Enough that it knocked him off balance completely and down to the ground. “Oof,” he uttered as he hit the ground, having enough sense to turn his head to the side to not completely cover his face with snow. But opening his mouth had been a mistake because snow fell in before he could react to the weight on top of him he had to spit out the mouthful of snow.
Had she... did she... Did she tackle him?
Oh, this was just getting ridiculous now. She started it, he was going to finish it. Was she another man this would have ended in a fist fight, or Loki would have turned into a wolf and snarled and bit until his attacker retreated. But she was a woman he couldn't do that. And now he clothes were wet.
Dammit.
There was only one way Loki could handle this and it was going to require quickly gaining control of the situation before she got up and tore off for the mouth of the cave that wasn't much further away. The weather was absolutely awful. They both needed to get to shelter soon. But this infuriating woman needed to be put in her place.
Loki rolled over, knocking her off of him and letting his pack fall off his shoulder and lay in the snow... the rabbit carcass was somewhere nearby, then moved as quickly as he could to try to grab and pin her on her back. He'd had enough at this point. “Yield,” he said firmly and fought to get her pinned. But then he looked at her face, really looked at it. Closer than he had been ever before and his resolve for anger sort of failed. She was beautiful, so very beautiful -with her face tinged pink from the cold and probably from the face plant in the snow. Even though she was obviously not happy with him, and he was really not very happy with her either, she was really quite nice to look at.
“Do you yield?” He asked quieter, gripping her wrists and fighting to remain in control.
