Sigyn blinked, surprised when he started listing off things that related to her. Though she wasn't overly surprised that Frigg might have complained about her inability to spin (or anything else that had to do with threads or yarns), she was startled to hear him speak of her foster-mother. Sigyn hadn't thought that was exactly common knowledge.
She also hadn't really considered herself on of Frigg's handmaidens, but that seemed to be where Bragi was lumping her. On the surface, she supposed she could see how that would happen. But really, Sigyn found very little in common with the other handmaidens. Especially ones like Lofn. Ugh. The rest weren't a whole lot better with all their gossiping and rumor-spreading. It made Sigyn wonder: if they were so willing to talk to her about others, who were they talking to about her?
And why did she suddenly get the feeling that Bragi was trying not to laugh at her? Was it because he'd heard some of the rumors and gossip himself? Oh who was she kidding. Of course he had. He was a storyteller, and you couldn't be a good speaker without first being a good listener. So she was sure that Bragi heard a great deal. And he was judging her on it? When she'd been nice enough to try to help him retain his wife? That was just rude.
Then she blinked. Because he actually did laugh. Before she could get mad, though, he started speaking and it made Sigyn blink again. That was perfectly alright? He'd kissed her? He'd kissed her? He'd kissed her?
The rest of whatever Bragi was saying was a muddled mumble of sounds because all Sigyn could hear was the rush of blood in her ears as everything started to take on a reddish tinge. Loki had kissed Idun. And now he was off somewhere. Cavorting with her. Cavorting. She was so wrapped up in her anger over what she'd just learned, all she heard clearly was the very last bit of what Bragi said.
“They're talking about me?” Her teeth were clenched. “They're off kissing and talking about other people, and you say it's perfectly alright? How can you be so calm?!”
Because Sigyn certainly wasn't. She was absolutely livid. And horridly, horridly jealous. Later, she knew, she'd have to add hurt to that list, so she was going to hold onto the anger as long as she could to keep it away. Because this? This was going to break her heart.
