Sigyn flushed when she heard Idun's voice calling through the hall. What she was saying, those were very personal things that were not meant for outside ears, Sigyn's ears. When Bragi called back, the flush became a blush, though she didn't really understand why. All she knew was that she was suddenly terribly uncomfortable, unlike whoever was in the library. They were comfortable enough to be sound asleep. Then again, sound asleep meant they were not privy to the current saccharine conversation. War of their hearts? It made her want to roll her eyes, but she couldn't because that was none of her business either.
Before she could either make her presence known to Idun or excuse herself from Bragi, her host had excused himself to speak to his wife. Sigyn looked around the room, her eyes awkwardly darting from place to place, trying to find something to distract herself from the sounds that were echoing down the hallway. But no matter what she did, she could still hear the things being said.
Bragi was doing exactly what she'd hoped, and hinted that she'd prefer, he not do. He was throwing the affair issue out on the table. Why was he doing that? He didn't believe it. Sigyn knew he didn't. He'd spent a fair amount of time convincing her that Idun was faithful to him, so she had nothing to worry about. And now he was reprising that refrain? For what purpose? Was he mocking her?
Well that was rather mean, Sigyn decided. And in combination with her embarrassment and the uncomfortable feeling of eavesdropping, she decided she just needed to leave now. The urge to either flee or go confront Bragi about it was growing, and rather than do something she knew she would regret later, Sigyn chose the former over the latter. There wasn't a door nearby, however, and she was not only unfamiliar with the layout of the hall, it seemed as though the owners were near enough that she'd be seen if she attempted to go into the corridor. Which left, obviously, just the one option.
Sigyn gathered up her pack, leaving two oatcakes on the table, and then she headed toward a bright window on the far wall. As she made her way toward the portal, she could hear Idun's voice rise in irritation, though she was far enough away now that the words were muffled. Sigyn didn't need to hear the specifics to know this was not a situation she wanted to be in the middle of. The window was tugged open, and with very little grace she clambered through it to make her escape.
