"Melinoe?" Idun asked, adopting her most curious, believable, I-am-deeply-pondering-this-information face. She had an unfair advantage because Idun had come looking for Melinoe, but it had definitely been decided that she wasn't bringing that up, so the act continued. She'd probably feel bad about the deception later, but only until she told Bragi about the amazing friendship she'd started with Phobetor's gothic sweetheart. After Bragi was involved, it was Game Over for guilt. He was going to be so impressed. "Oh! Melinoe!!" Even if it hadn't been insanely loud in the venue, Idun's enthusiasm still would've led to yelling. "I love the Greeks. Some of my greatest friends are Greek. You know Lottie, right? Lottie and I almost burned down France together!"
She laughed and finally reached to take the Greek goddess' hand. Idun had a very friendly handshake, and she about to let Melinoe in on that secret when the song started. Idun was not as familiar with this music as she was acting like she was, but the feel of the crowd gave her all the information she needed.
This was big. Not even just big, but Something BIG. Extra emphasis and everything. Idun's pleasant smile grew into a grin, and then she dropped Melinoe's hand before any shaking could be done, only to pick it back up with her opposite hand.
"We're going to dance!" Idun said cheerfully.
And then the music properly took over, and there was truly no way for Melinoe to refuse.
Idun was convincing when she needed to be, after all, and in the middle of a screaming crowd, with an amazing song playing, what reason could Melinoe possibly have to not dance?
