If Bragi wasn't too busy not writing a heartfelt letter to the darling of his devotion, he would have noticed the frown. He didn't notice it. Instead, he got by on older memories of the secret frowns that may or may not have caught his attention when he mentioned Jondi's name. Bragi loved them. Probably even more than the name Jondi.
He was not surprised that the goddess had declined his offer. Bragi could feel the words coming before she'd said them. She'd never seemed so fascinated by her nails before. Bragi had been more fascinated with her nails before this than she'd been. Well the hands. The nails were nice, but Bragi loved the hands. Not that he looked up enough to really notice she was fascinated by her nails. He'd only looked up enough to barely notice.
When she finally addressed him again, Bragi counted to three in his mind, and then slowly turned his head. The question registered. He furrowed his brow at the paper and bit his lip. “A bit” Bragi admitted. Sorrow in his tone. “I just want it to be perfect. Simple and sincere but with some real effort behind it. If it came effortlessly it might seem like I cared less.” Bragi waited until she proved she didn't care by not looking, and then he grinned
