She did not know then. The situation grew from the size of a skulking figure in the shadows to a skulking figure in the shadows with an axe. Bragi looked back down at his writing and frowned a little. Then he pretended he didn't like one of the lines and crossed it off. He actually didn't like any of the lines. Bragi had been so focused on writing that he hadn't thought through what he was writing. The result was a bunch of tree names, a few of the horses, and the rest was just 'apples' written in a variety of different ways. He crumpled it up, and started again.
“I see” Bragi said. Then he added brightly, “Well if you ever want help out, let me know.” Then he went right back to his “task.” Bragi was so intent on actually writing something this time that he almost missed that she'd addressed him coolly again. Ohhhh, she was mad. Bragi could tell. It practically rolled off of her in waves with the way she was pretending not to care instead of saying 'Hey. Wanna get me down?' Bragi did want to get her down. But to be fair, she wasn't in any rush to get him out of his net either.

He might even be able to work it to his advantage. “To Jondi.” The goddess who might be his one true love. It was also one of his friend's names from back when he lived with his mother. But that was a coincidence Bragi had never felt Idun needed to know. There weren't many things Bragi thought were too trivial to mention, but there was an exception to every rule.
