There was less for Bragi to ponder as he headed down the road, but he did have one question that nagging at him. What was that strange giant growth hanging from that tree. He'd spotted it from a distance, a little ways into the wood, and the closer he got, the more his stomach sank. Whatever this was, it was obviously not good. He wished Thor was there. But Thor wasn't.
If Thor was there, he'd definitely investigate without hesitation. Since he wasn't, Bragi would have to fill in, with a bit more hesitation. Bragi took a breath to calm his heart, and when he got close enough, he left the road and plunged a little ways into the woods towards the thing. It was a net. A people sized net. And it was occupied. Bragi was about to run to get a knife or sword or something to cut them down immediately, when he caught a glimpse of the net victim's foot. Rosy. Bragi grinned. Suddenly he was much more relaxed about this.
“Apple maiden.” Bragi said, looking up at her. “What a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect to see you here. You look nice.” He liked the cloak. She was trapped in a giant uncomfortable net in the woods, suspended high above the ground, with no means of escape. Funny. That was exactly how Bragi felt about their relationship sometimes.
“I hope you are well.” Bragi said. Then he looked at the net with an eyebrow raise, and nibbled on his lip. “You know. I'd love to catch up but you seem a bit caught up in things at the moment.” He grinned at her. “I'll come back at a better time.” He turned around and walked away.
Fifteen minutes later, he was back. He pointed at the base of the tree. “Do you mind if I sit here? This looked like a pretty good tree. Very sturdy trunk.”
