Her words said 'fine time' but Bragi heard something else between them. He decided to ignore the other thing. Bragi didn't have to be as skilled with reading between the lines as he was. That could still be a mystery. The huff when he'd thanked her, and the eyebrow furrow didn't have to have any meaning. At least as far as their conversation was concerned. In the back of his mind, Bragi accepted them, and all of their meaning with an insane sort of giddiness. The kind that convinced people they could fly, even without any change to their circumstance or physiology.
Bragi couldn't get over how enchanting she was when she talked about her passions. There was this beautiful hypnotizing light that came into her eyes, and Bragi caught himself staring into it in the way that he'd caught her starting at him earlier. He had to force himself to get over the enchantment, because if he allowed himself to entertain it any further Bragi knew he wouldn't be able to resist kissing her. Fortunately, he was playing on the side of the board where he would have to get over it a little bit less than his opponent. Bragi let her draw him in a little, but not too much. The stakes were too high for that, no matter how much he might wish otherwise, or how many lingering memories he didn't have.
“You look suited for it” Bragi said, “It's like you're in your natural element here.” He smiled when she met his eyes. “But if you ever want another hand I'd be happy to help.” He even had more experience now, and it wasn't an exclusive offer. It had come to a few other orchards along the way too.
“Some of it,” Bragi amended her point about the orchard with half a shrug. “Briefly” he said to amend the second point. He laughed lightly and shook his head a little. “I thought those were the reasons. Are they not enough? Should there be another one?” The orchard wasn't really a reason either, if he was being totally honest. It was a bonus, but not the reason. Bragi had wanted to see her, and this was where she was. So he'd come. That was all. The short and the long of it.
