Well, that glare that Bragi had waved away with the holding of her hand certainly had no problem making an appearance right then, as he pondered and questioned and concealed his amusement rather poorly. The grin put an end to the glare, but at least it had existed for a brief period of time. Damn him and his infectious smiles. "You're welcome to try to grow it back," she told him, all eyebrows and attitude. And then she laughed and shook her head and wrecked her own intimidation attempt.
"The glass tunnel," she confirmed with a quick tip of her chin. She already loved aquariums. Splitting her focus between loving aquariums and loving Bragi in an aquarium seemed like the sort of challenge one eagerly accepted without truly fearing the consequences of failure. She loved ice cream, but didn't mind that her love for Bragi was keeping her rather distracted from it. He'd stolen her spoon, but if she truly minded, how difficult would it be to get another? Staying right where she was while Bragi stayed right where he was definitely seemed preferable. And so she stayed, loving him as the ice cream melted. "I'm not afraid of sharks. We can scope out all the tunnels, to find the one best-suited for our picnic."
There was no denying that Idun had won. She still felt smug, which just proved how much she'd won. "Second. You have the title of Best, I'm afraid. I would know. I am your wife, after all." As if that needed saying. She smiled. "Oh, I'll make sure Lottie clears her schedule. She won't even fight me, I bet. Vidar is worth clearing an evening. Or two. Or a week. After the dinner, our next double date should be a nice tropical vacation. Lottie looks stunning in a swimsuit." Idun was pretty sure she knew that for a fact. It was implied. Lottie was gorgeous in anything.
His innocent act made Idun raise an eyebrow. "You conveniently forgot kissing me on that road, Bragi," she reminded him, pursing her lips. "That alone practically forced me into proposing marriage." Not that she'd known that at the time. The pair of them had just been so hopelessly in love, and Idun had been so blind to it at first. When Bragi stopped, stopped everything, Idun paused as well. She knew that look. She breathed for that look. Her heart stopped briefly, and then he spoke, and the smile that followed reminded her of all the reasons life would always be worth living. "You might've mentioned that once or twice," she whispered, breathing out laughter as she gave his hand a tighter squeeze.
"Anyway," Idun began a moment later. No more of this perfect mushy love craziness. "I was going to distract you from the sundaes one way or another. You just happened to distract me first." And then she smiled, all mischief and temptation, as she scooped some whipped cream with her pointer finger and extended it to Bragi as though it were a spoon.
Perfect mushy love seduction craziness instead, apparently. Plotting really did work up an appetite.
