It was always moments like that, when Bragi pulled his arm away to avoid her playful attack but put it back even faster so she could still swat him, that Idun felt the real weight of his absence. It was always a brief, fleeting, miniscule sliver of time, but there it was. Besides Bragi, who allowed her to whack their arms after they had already instinctively pulled away to avoid the mock violence? Who did things like that, against their better judgment, simply because it made her laugh? But it was silly to remember why she missed Bragi while Bragi was right there, so, as always, Idun let the thought float away and smiled warmly instead.
And then she gasped and glared. "First you kick me, then you bring up thimbles!" she exclaimed. Neither held much weight on their own, but together? Ohhh, together! Well, together, there was still nothing, but that rarely mattered once he got her to gasp dramatically. "I'm on to you, Bragi. You're not fooling me." Idun didn't know what she was talking about, but she acted like she did. It was all about the performance. Well, that, and persuading him to give her his cherry. Idun smiled triumphantly once that happened.
His laugh seemed to emphasize her excitement, highlighting it in bright neons and tossing a bit of glitter in for good measure. With Bragi's laughter, Idun's everyday, run-of-the-mill excitement was suddenly ready for Broadway. This was simply what happened when Bragi laughed. Everything changed for the better. Or so Idun would argue.
"Mm," Idun hummed around the spoon, since she took him up on his offered scoop of ice cream rather happily. When she pulled back, Idun squeezed Bragi's hand, mostly because she could, and then grinned. "Hubba hubba? That makes perfect sense. Your brother is very attractive, Bragi. And Lottie is very attractive. And I'm not just talking about physical appearances, those can change, but personalities. Honestly, I don't know why I never thought of this before! They're perfect. I wonder if Lottie would prefer a beach wedding, or something more formal? Do you think we should...hah. Oh. We should probably get Lottie to dinner first, hm?"
As rosy cheeks got a bit rosier, Idun simply laughed at her own enthusiastic tendency to get ahead of herself. "Here. Definitely here. What did Vidar say? Well, no, actually, what did Vidar imply when he said whatever he said? Because that's important. Should we rent a bouncy castle? To take the edge off?"
