There was a mild chuckle that slipped from her lips in response to his wide grin and happy laugh. It wasn't hard for her good mood to continue in the presence of someone that was in such a good mood themselves. It was a wonderful cycle, and she kept seeing it over and over in the Haight. People put good things out, they got good things back. That was part of the basis for this whole social revolution they were trying to make happen.
But when he told her she was like the sun, Bast took a closer look at the god before her. The fact that he was wearing underclothing and huge clompy boots, the sunglasses and big grin, the rather vague tone to his voice and the comment itself, all added up to a conclusion that she found terribly amusing. Thanatos here had been partaking of the local pharmaceuticals. And something pretty good, too, if it was affecting him like this. For Bast, nothing she'd taken sent her on a “trip” like it did for the mortals; but then again, she had a very high tolerance anyway given all she'd tried over the centuries. Either Thanatos didn't have much of a tolerance, or he had found somebody with something that could actually affect a god. That could be interesting.
“Thanatos,” she smiled. “Cool.”
He was sort of cute, she decided. He wasn't exactly her type, but he was handsome enough and drugs or not, he'd said she was like the sun. That was a hell of a compliment in her book, and a unique one at that. It stood out far better than being told she was gorgeous. Which she already knew she was. She was also aware that she was sexy, beautiful, groovy and talented. But like the sun? She was going to remember that one.
Slipping her arm through his, she turned him gently so he was facing the same direction as she intended to go. For a reason she couldn't quite put her finger on, she just didn't feel right about the idea of leaving him to his own devices. So he could just come with her. “You're not busy, right?” she asked, even though the answer didn't much matter. Bast intended to drag him along anyway. “Let's go get some bread, and then we'll go have dinner with some people that make awesome music. You like music? You like to sing?”
Again, the plans that had already been laid didn't really matter. They could be changed at a whim, in this case, hers. Not that the people she hung around with these days seemed to mind too much when plans got shifted around. Things were fluid, life was fluid. And they were going to love her new buddy, Thanatos.
