“Yes,” he answered without giving it much initial thought. “She's one of mine.” Though why Hades cared to ask after Persephone was unusual. His brother was a strange fellow at times. Zeus nodded to him that he would continue. “Bright girl, good with plants.” Then he shrugged. “She's your family as well, brother. She is Demeter's girl.”
Zeus was curious as to what this conversation would all entail. What a peculiar thing. Hades asks Zeus to meet him among mortals to ask after their sister's daughter. Had the girl caused him some offense? It was always possible, though unlikely. Persephone wasn't exactly one who went around causing trouble or instigating it among others.
“Though, if you ask me, Demeter is being quite ridiculous. Are not my sons suitable enough to be considered husband to the girl?” It had been frustrating. Both Apollo and Hermes had tried to woo the young goddess and both times the mother refused them. Either god was a suitable mate for his daughter and somehow Demeter kept forgetting that Zeus was Persephone's father and he was not only King he was Head of House and should have at least some say in his daughter's marriage potential.
His sister's lack of council with him prior to her flat refusal to her nephews had Zeus quite irate with her. “Why do you ask?”
