After he noticed Zeus wasn't looking at him yet, Hades turned his gaze away from Zeus and towards the Poseidon statue. He tilted his head a little. "Perhaps if he spent a bit less time with horses," Hades remarked dryly. This was one of the reasons why Hades wasn't going to look at his own statue.
When Zeus looked at him, Hades did not meet his gaze at first. He looked just past the statue and tried not to focus on the invisible sword that he must just barely have swallowed without noticing. This suddenly seemed like a very bad idea. Not the part about going to Zeus. Zeus was the right person. Going anywhere ever at all was the bad idea. Having an idea to find an idea was the bad idea. He should have tried the ignoring thing for longer. Maybe it just needed another ten years to kick in. Or five hundred...
"Yes" Hades said, meeting his brother's eye. He kept his tone even. Casual. So unaffected it would obviously be crazy to think Hades was being affected by anything. Ever. "Persephone" Hades said. "She's one of yours right? What do you know about her?"
