That made her chuckle. "You're lucky you didn't deserve the fully murderous glare," Idun informed him, leaning in slightly as though she were letting him in on a secret. When she remembered how to be playful and teasing and friendly, Idun almost forgot how very dangerous Bragi was, because she was too busy forgetting to have a care in the nine worlds. That easy, fluid attitude slipped comfortably in for a moment, but then he was grinning again, and Idun almost sighed.
How terribly ridiculous!
She decided it had been a very long time since she last flirted with a handsome, charming, amusing god with a voice wrapped in velvet. Idun couldn't actually recall the last god she'd flirted with, but if it had been a while, maybe that would explain her reaction to Bragi. She studied him curiously, her brow slightly furrowed as she concentrated. Was he distracting her from remembering the last flirty god? That didn't even make s--
Oh. There was that wicked smile again. Followed by a smirk that once again altered the strength of her knees. It wasn't until one uneven inhale later that Bragi's reply even registered, but when it did, all that nervous energy was channeled to a more productive place. Maybe. She could ignore the grin and the smirk and all the fiendish implications locked behind his eyes. She could ignore them because his 'maybe' amused her in a genuine, amazing sort of way. Idun had no issues with the smile that formed, no desire to hide the bright reaction to what he'd said. Maybe he'd seen some promise yesterday. Well, Idun didn't mind hearing that. Not at all. "I'll keep that in mind." Idun glanced at Bragi, grinning in her own mischievous way, eyes crinkling at the corners and everything.
His laughter had an infectious quality, but it was easy to laugh after grinning like that. The chuckle made her feel warmer, more like herself. He had other goddesses, but he'd seen some promise yesterday. One didn't cancel the other, but somehow the combination of those things helped put her warring mind at ease to some extent. She needed to stop thinking. Listening was a much better idea. And then listening led to her attention being properly snagged, and as soon as Bragi was finished, Idun shook her head slightly and let out another puff of laughter. "I never want to settle down. I never want to get married or settle down or really do much of any of that. It just doesn't make sense to me. It never has. I understand adventure and the unexpected, and I find the expected things thrilling as well, don't get me wrong, but...I don't know why you would want to settle down. I really don't. Nobody takes commitment like that seriously, and that's terrible."
