"You seem rather determined to defend this goddess," Idun pointed out. He might've been smiling in a way that made Idun painfully intrigued, and the moment he dedicated to pondering might've brought Idun to smiling as well, but she managed to remind herself that this wasn't her first time dealing with an intriguing god. She was comfortable and flirtatious and she knew how to handle herself. Even if she was still working on everything else, at least her words were playful and vaguely confident enough to suggest as much. Maybe everything else would follow, now that she had a sharper edge to her tongue.
But then again, probably not.
Not if he kept declaring he loved all the things she loved.
It was such a simple move, too. An easy play. Declaring a clear preference for all the things being mentioned. Winning a goddess over as a result. Idun knew these moves! She was no stranger to them. But when Bragi said he loved apples, Idun forgot as much and grinned. "It's a beautiful orchard. You should--" Only then did Idun catch herself. "Hm." No, no he shouldn't come see it some time. What was she thinking? She pursed her lips and shook her head. A few more bricks were added to the wall Bragi was so opposed to. "You needn't worry yourself. Most orchards look very similar. If you've seen one, you've seen them all."
It was very difficult to focus on ignoring his charms when his description of what he did was so very charming. Idun loved music and poetry, and she loved family, and she definitely cared for people. There was such obvious appeal in all of that. But he probably knew as much. If he wrote and chronicled, he likely wooed with words. He knew what to say. Idun chuckled softly, his plea for a sample answer seeming to prove the god's mastery of words. Just like that, he'd brought her to the brink of revealing her own adventurous desires. Tricky. He was tricky. "Oh, the journeys I long for would likely bore you. But to answer hypothetically..." Idun paused, but it was for effect. She didn't want him playing her. That seemed even more important than a full journey. She didn't want him under her skin when she already knew how dangerous he was.
"I'd like a journey with an unassuming beginning. I always start my journeys on purpose these days. But who wouldn't like a journey that was completely unexpected? Take yesterday, for example. Nobody would expect that meeting to lead somewhere. I'd like a journey that started like that. Unassuming." Idun smiled playfully. "I hope that makes sense. Hypothetical scenarios are tricky."
