"Hel's a friend of mine. She's very nice. I wondered how close everyone was in your Pantheon, but I don't think I've asked her yet. Us Greeks all know of each other, well, most of us. I'm a bit of an anomaly. Mostly because I deal with death, but I mean if there was no death the world would be terribly overpopulated. Thanatos as I do the world a service." Makaria smiled all the while. Her eyes seemed brighter when she spoke of Thanatos.
But the way he said he knew Hel, Makaria felt it best to move the topic along. If there was some kind of bad blood, and she never knew with how Greeks could be, she didn't want to ruin this first meeting with someone who knew Thanatos. Especially with someone who seemed to know him well enough.
"Well, we kind of have to be, we work hand in hand a lot. I mean, I don't think we've ever fought before, not really, not since I was a child and learning the ropes as it were." Makaria shrugged. "He's fantastic, but a little hard to get laughing. He likes being serious. I would really enjoy it if he'd just lighten up a little, let loose when he isn't drinking. Sometimes I worry that if she doesn't smile he's going to be stuck doing that face he does."
Makaria tried to give her best serious and not so happy face.
