THANATOS. She kind of jumped when he said that name. That particular name. Her entire belly could flop, she could drop everything, her heart could catch in her throat. She almost turned around to look for him. It wasn't that they were always together but.. well, they just kind of were. It's what they did. He was nonviolent death, she was blessed death. A lot of their.. assignments, went hand in hand. It was just that some of hers WERE violent.
So he wasn't around all the time. And they were really really good friends. Which made this crush STUPID. Friends didn't date, or kiss, or anything because that ruined friendship. Still..
It was very hard to stamp down.
"Yes, actually. We're very well acquainted. He's sort of my Guardian, at times. He and I work hand in hand a lot, not literally, but side by side. And he's my friend, probably the oldest one I have outside of my direct family. He's also my dad's best friend. My father is Hades, Lord of the Greek Underworld. But I mean, Thanatos is like the God of Death everyone remembers and he's brilliant. He's really amazing. I mean, you know him right? He's a little careful and not into violence which is good because we greeks are so violent. But he likes really silly things, and music, and books. And wine. We love wine. We've been collecting so much wine since forever and we have this thing where we go places and drink wine while the Mortals make new castles or towns and sometimes we get lost and he's hilarious really."
It didn't occur to her that she was gushing. But she was gushing.
"And I mean he has so much work to do. Not only does he deal with all of that but assignments from my father and he tends plants really well. Terrible with animals, I'm better with him. But I think eventually he'l he able to keep a goldfish alive for a day. He doesn't smile though, never understood that. I mean not often and when he does, oh when he does.." Finally it hit her.
"Uh. I mean, yes I know him we're kind of coworkers of a sort and.. Um." She looked up at him again.
"Did I mention you were tall? And this is a really good storm."
