Oh she was going to give him an earful the next time she saw him, because he'd never mentioned, never told her anything about a lovely goddess that he lived with when he was on Olympus. The only thing that kept her from screaming at the moment was that Peitho had said he was with her. Not that he was married to her.
Did that mean that he had the same relationship with her that he did with Rosmerta?
Eyes narrowed, jaw mildly clenched, she muttered, “How do I know him? Oh, Mercury and I have been... together for some time now. At my home. In Gaul.”
There was a long, uncomfortable silence. Part of her wanted to grab this goddess by the hair and yank until all those pretty locks just fell right out and never grew back again. But there was a logical portion of her brain that whispered and reminded her that she was not a jealous creature. She never had been. She knew that Mercury wasn't faithful to her, nor had she been exclusively with him. Mars would have ruined that promise even if she'd tried to make it, the sexy bastard. So why was she so angry? What made her this upset?
Rosmerta couldn't quite put her finger on it at the moment, so finally she said, “So. You are with Hermes. And I am with Mercury. And... here we are. Now what do we do about that, do you think?”
