Anansi let the hands be touched before they vanished and he was just a man with the normal amount of limbs. He smiled at the little girl and at the other god before taking a seat on the edge of the bed.
"I am Anansi." He greeted them both. "And I am no Greek, but I happen to be the King of All Stories. There is bound to be one in there somewhere that you like."
He looked at the girl, judging her, and what her tastes might be. "You get to stay awake, do you? I think that you have set the parameters very high indeed, so that you might never have to sleep again." Anansi knew tricky cheaters when he saw them, but couldn't deny that it was a good game, fun, complex, and with the inclusion of stories, a game he felt he must win.
"Korinna. Though your name might mean maiden, I doubt that you wish to hear a story of a maiden." Anansi looked the small girl over again. Then he looked at Bragi, thinking. What stories had Bragi already tried that Anansi had not heard? He couldn't know, of course.
"I think that you would like best a story from my homeland. Have you heard of Africa? It is a big place, and not altogether far from here in the great scheme of things. The world is big and there are places that are much harder to reach.
"Where Anansi comes from, every animal has learned a lesson, many times they are difficult things to learn and so the gods give them to us in a test. If the test is passed, we gain our wisdom and perhaps something else go go along. But if it is failed, then we might risk our very lives.
"Once long ago, when animals had only one name and one of each animal existed, there was Chicken, Rooster and Black Snake." Anansi smiled at the little girl and broke into the story of Black Snake and the Eggs for her, keeping his eyes on hers the whole time, yet showing wild expression in his face as his tale went on.
When he was finished, Anansi waited for the reaction.
