No problem? No problem? Was this Bragi fellow serious? No, Idun realized. No, he simply wasn't listening to her. Hearing what he wants instead of dealing with the store of annoyance that she was rather quickly draining. He didn't know that, though! Bragi was unaware of her annoyance limitations, and he was carrying on anyway as if they were on their way to a good, solid friendship. It was almost funny, really, and Idun almost began to smile in a manner he couldn't possibly confuse for slightly murderous, but then she caught herself. "And what is this name? You don't even know if I accept this name you're trying to keep for me!" she exclaimed, throwing up her hands. Perhaps a wild hand gesture would finally make him attentive in a manner that wasn't slightly delusional.
Except...probably not. He had been smiling, and now he was smirking, and that was just a very good look on him. Idun made a pointed effort not to let her eyes widen like they wanted to, but she was still very surprised. First by the smirk, and second by her reaction to it. He had scared off a cherished friend with his arrival! He had shown up unannounced and essentially ruined her day! He wasn't allowed to be handsome. Idun frowned slightly. She needed a way to justify this thought before sweeping it away. After a moment, she realized that all gods were handsome, it was some sort of rule, and then she felt a little better.
But only a little. It was good that she had his story to listen to. Idun thought everyone was stunning and wonderful and a pleasure to look upon, but he looked so good smirking, like he was up to some mischief and had all sorts of secrets hidden behind his lips. Idun wanted to know more.
She held onto her flimsy justification a bit tighter and settled in to listen. Idun found herself relaxing unintentionally, remaining completely quiet even as she shifted into a more comfortable position. She hadn't climbed this tree in a dress, so drawing one leg to her chest ran no risk of indecency. Idun folded her arms over her knee and listened, and then she was beginning to smile with very little effort put forth to prevent it from happening. There were frost giants at the bottom of the tree and...oh. Idun blinked, surprised by her demanded participation now. And then she shook her head. "I'm sure! I'm sure, I'm sure, finish the story!" she said, rather impatiently. It wasn't her fault he told a good story. Said nothing about how she felt about him. Idun just wanted to know the ending, and then she'd be annoyed again.
