Bragi had never met a goddess who liked to climb trees. At least after they reached a certain age. He didn't know there were any. And the tree was a very good sturdy tree, but it was also not one meant for novices. This girl climbed trees, and she did it often. Instead of shrieking about heights, or spending her time working on refinement, she sat in the top of trees that Bragi liked with twigs in her hair. This fascinated him enough by itself. Even if she weren't exceptionally beautiful, which the goddess was, he'd want to know more about her.
But she looked peeved. He'd obviously interrupted something. Maybe she was about to reach a moment of epiphany, and he'd disrupted her so badly she'd lost it and would never find it again. Bragi didn't know. He just knew that she looked very cute when she was angry. Very cute and slightly scary.
…..But he wanted to know more. And Bragi could not bear the thought of the only like minded tree climber he'd found to have feelings of hatred towards him. If he left, like she obviously wanted, her only memory of him would be the time he'd made her mad in a tree. Bragi decided the best thing to do would be to stay until he'd changed her mind about him. He wanted to see her smile. He bet she had a very pretty smile.
So instead of departing like he would have done under normal circumstances, Bragi released her hand, and sat on the branch next to her. “The tree over there is pretty nice, but it's not as good as the one I found a few weeks ago. A bit higher than this one, and you can see right down the hill to the lake. I'd be happy to take you to it sometime. I'm sorry, I missed your name?”
