"That sounds like a great idea." Ananasi was proving himself to be a clever god, and Bes was momentarily reminded of Djehuty. Both had good heads on their shoulders, and both enjoyed stories. At least Djehuty liked reading and writing, and Bes figured that was close enough to stories most of the time. Maybe this Spider was rather like his good friend the Baboon. At any rate, Bes was taking a liking to Anansi. While he might have another motive for doing so, he was willing to put in a little work to help out the villagers. Another reason to like the man.
Though truth be told, Bes usually liked most anybody.
He had to admire the other god's cleverness. A walk was one thing, but it might appear rude or suspicious to the villagers. Taking their jugs to fill, a showing of gratitude for their hospitality, would not be questionable. When push came to shove, Bes could think on his feet as well as the next guy. Fighting demons required a quick mind. But he would never consider himself wise or particularly smart.
"I know right where that oasis is. There are some jugs right over there," he added, pointing to the objects in question.
