Hermod took a deep breath, trying to collect himself. He was sure she didn’t mean anything by the comment. It really wasn’t something that was discussed on a first meeting, was it? He didn’t think that the Greeks were that forward. At least he really hoped that was the case. Really, really hoped.
He started to answer Lottie’s concerned questions when he realized that her face was just inches from his. And her arms were still around his waist. “Um, no. We’re, ah… We’re fine. No problem. Just got caught off guard. A little. Not that much, really. It’s all okay.”
He could do this. He could be as smooth as his brother was. There was no reason to be nervous around women. They were just softer men. That’s what Mist had tried to tell him. She had been trying to seduce him at the time. He was pretty sure Balder had put her up to it. His brother had been alive then. He wondered what Balder would think about the fact that he now lived in the same Hall as Mist and her sisters. He really missed both his brothers sometimes.
“Um, right.” Hermod shook his head slightly to get his thoughts back on the matter at hand. “I should get you back to your car. It’s your turn to drive.” He smiled at her, hoping his blushing was under control.
