Odin was about to respond when she turned her head. The small sound that escaped her mouth could be interpreted so many ways, but it did not indicate displeasure. Her eyes seemed to have a softness, and though she was obviously surprised by suddenly being so close to the Alfather, she didn't immediately pull back, either. Another good sign, and one that Odin was going to take full advantage of.
"Ah, but my dear, even the sun needs a foundation to work with." His eyes penetrated hers as he brought his hand back up the nape of her neck. There was a small amount of pressure, enough to let her know that he wanted her right where she was, but not so much that she couldn't pull away should she choose. A thumb began to gently tease the little indent right below where her head met her neck, all the while his eyes still holding hers.
"Believe me, Sigyn, you have a rare beauty few could hope for. A beauty that goes far deeper than just your hair or your skin."
Then, because she had yet to give him indication, by movement or word, that she was displeased or uncomfortable with their closeness, he decided to take his cue. He lowered his face to hers, his lips covering her own. Gentle, he reminded himself, keeping the kiss light. He would not force her, but he would win the day. Of that he was sure. It was only a matter of seeing how much convincing Sigyn would need.
