No, not French, therefore not a local deity. Latin, on the other hand, Isis could work with. Though it was a curious choice. For herself, the Egyptian had far too much encounter with the Romans not to have learned the language. She might have expected a Greek goddess to have known the language as well, given their similar histories, but this woman did not strike Isis as coming from that region. The bone structure was all wrong, and she seemed far to pale for most Greeks.
"Yes, I can." Isis responded. "I fear I am drawing a bit more attention to myself than I intended if you saw me, but I am very pleased to meet you. I am Isis." She extended a hand to the other woman, momentarily grateful for a companion. Two women together were far less likely to draw attention than one on her own. As long as the queen's skin tone was not noticed. That there was no getting around with these backward thinkers. Unless she could at least pretend to be a servant to the other goddess should they be approached. Hopefully, that wouldn't happen.
Sadly, she would be treated even worse in her own homeland. Long gone were the days when a woman could call herself Pharaoh, divorce her husband, and own her own property. When had the world turned so backwards?
"I'm obviously a long way from home. I'm guessing you are as well?"
