Hel was just about to bolt back into Concept to avoid the...was it really a dog?...beast's lunge, when someone thankfully appeared and called the animal off. She was in rough enough shape, what with half her body a savage mess, without having to sustain an attack. She remained tense until the stranger welcomed her, relief flooding through her at his pleasant tone.
Hearing his announcement, Hel dipped into a curtsy. They may be on equal terms, more or less, in terms of position, but this was his realm and she would not risk offending him over perceived protocol. "Lord Hades." Standing again, she introduced herself. "I am Hel, Queen of Niflheim, and the realm of the Norse dead. Please forgive my abrupt arrival. I really should have come by to introduce myself much sooner than this."
Eyeing the three headed beast warily, she attempted to break the ice. "Perhaps we should get your dog and mine together for a little playtime." While only having a single head, Garm's sheer size would be a match for Hades' animal. "Garm would probably be thrilled to have a friend more like him." He was let out often enough to run through the mists and frozen lands of Niflheim, but it wasn't the same as someone to actually play with. He actually might like that.
Now that she'd had a moment to at least slightly relax, though she was still nervous about how the meeting would go, it occurred to Hel to be surprised it was Hades himself who greeted her. From what she had heard, he had many deities at his command in his realm. Something else she never understood. For herself, she had only her two servants, useless as they were if she actually wanted anything done this year.
The Greeks must breed like rabbits, for all the deities their pantheon boasted. Did they just make up duties as each new one came along? Far too complicated, to her mind. Hel managed her entire realm on her own, and a part of her envied the fact that Hades probably had more free time on his hands than she could dream of. Then again, she couldn't imagine sharing her duties. Helheim was her responsibility, and she took that very seriously.
The ice broken and unsure as she was of Hades patience, Hel thought it best to get to the point. "Again, forgive the intrusion. I wasn't sure how else to handle this. I have a recent addition who feels she should be here instead of my realm."
