Lottie's plan-- well, really, she didn't have a plan. She had a half-formed idea that was still coalescing into something resembling a plan. But her idea was to walk up the hill to find the source of the waterfall. Except she realized, even as her fingers curled around the other girl's, that was not going to work at all. They would make too much noise and she would be discovered.
It didn't even occur to her that she could use her new friend as an excuse for why she was there. That would not only be dishonest, it would put Harmonia in an awkward position. Friendship simply didn't do that sort of thing, so it never even crossed her mind that even if she made noise, she could lie her way out of it at this point.
Instead, she extended her will and pulled Harmonia through concept with her to the top of the knoll. She was rewarded by the sound of running water that meant they were near the stream. And if they were lucky the water wouldn't be a shallow little flow. It shouldn't be. With how much was going over the falls, there should be a nice pool there. Hopefully it wouldn't be flowing too fast.
“Just because you were sent out with your brothers to bathe,” Lottie explained, “doesn't mean you have to be with your brothers to bathe. I bet we can find a spot up here. And you know what that means? Our water will be fresher.”
