Her smile broadened. “I like it when people are happy, yes. Daddy's not always happy but that's kinda his thing. He does the whole 'grr I'm angry' thing very well.” Harmonia's smile brightened a bit at mention of her father. She really did adore Ares above everyone else. He was her world, he was the greatest father in the history of fathers. She was sure of it. “But even he needs Love. Which is why he has Mother.” She didn't mention Hephaestus. Her step-father was always kinda of growly around her for some reason. Which never made sense, he seemed to like Ares just fine, he made weapons for him and stuff. And he liked her mother. So why wouldn't he like Balance?
Some things she probably wasn't going to understand until she was much older. And some things she'd probably never understand. “I only have four, though. Four true brothers. The rest are all halfsies or adopted. And only two of those are erotes.” She shrugged. “I love them all. Even though Eros can be a bit of a jerk sometimes.” She frowned a bit. It was because he was jealous of her, she was sure of it. Because she was Ares' favorite and he wasn't.
“People do want to hurt them, though. I heard my Aunt Enyo say once that she'd like to pluck their feathers out one by one before evis... evis... eviscerating them. Whatever eviscerating is. Daddy wouldn't tell me and he didn't seem so happy with Enyo for saying it.” She shrugged again.
“Plus,” she said, “there's all those scary Underworld people I hear others talk about. They'd probably hurt them too if given the chance, don't you think?” Harmonia sort of scrunched her nose up in thought. She wasn't aware Philotes was an Underworlder, never having heard her name before, and not having heard it if the other goddess mentioned it. “I mean, not that there's anything wrong with the Underworld. Auntie 'Seph is down there part of the year and she doesn't seem to hate it terribly. It can't be all bad. But I've heard stories.”
