Zelos smiled slightly as his sisters answered the new king. They were all doing so well, he knew they would get some kind of position at court. But Zeus didn’t seem quite convinced yet. He wasn’t sure what else they could do to impress him.
Rivalry tensed when Zeus started questioning Kratos directly. He had told the Olympian what his brother could do, that should have been enough. Zee knew his little brother did not like being put on the spot like that. Kray liked to think before he spoke, not wanting to say the wrong thing or have his words interpreted the wrong way. Kray was better than he was about thinking before he spoke.
Zee started to move forward, to try to find some way to protect his brother. He would even fight Zeus to keep his brother and sisters safe. Luckily, before he could do anything potentially stupid, Kray spoke up. He had to smile at the way his brother explained himself. Kray was Strength, but not a war god. Zee knew Kray preferred peaceful resolutions to any kind of fighting. Kray was more often than not the peacemaker in their family squabbles.
“Sorry, Bia,” he said to his baby sister. “I should not have spoken for you or Kray. I was simply trying to highlight some of our possibly useful abilities. But there is a lot more to each of us, my lord. We would all like the chance to show them to you over time.” He put his hand on Kray’s shoulder and smiled at him. He was proud of Kray for speaking up and prouder of what he had said.
