Hermod could not stop grinning. He was going to get a job! The best kind of job because he was going to work for his dad. He didn’t think there was a better job anywhere on Asgard. And Odin was going to get him a sword, too. Hod and Balder would be so jealous.
“I’ll do it, Dad,” he said, trying not bounce in his excitement. “I can train Sleipnir to be the best steed in Asgard. You can ride him into battle and you’ll beat them all.” He could picture the horse in a battle with his extra legs kicking all the bad guys.
“I’ll start right now. I bet he’s hungry. Come on, Sleipnir. I’ll help make your stables really comfortable.” Hermod took the lead that was attached to the strange little horse and started heading to the stables. Other horses kept there, so he knew Sleipnir wouldn’t be lonely. He didn’t want the horse to be lonely
“We’re going to be friends, Sleipnir,” he said, rubbing the horse’s neck. “And we’ll both make Dad proud of us.”
