Her eyes had unfocused, just a bit, as she considered how to get what she needed and get back quickly, and manage not to get caught doing it. The first time would be the most important time, and Sigyn was quickly coming to the conclusion that the shelf would be at the top of the list. If she had that, then she could take subsequent trips. She could time it easier, so she could sneak in and out when she was least likely to be seen.
But at Loki's words, her gaze became sharp again, fixed on his face. Self-pity and self-recriminations were one thing: Sigyn didn't think she could stop him from doing that until he had grieved more. She was still working through her own pain and heartache, how could she ask him to hurry up his mourning to make her life easier? Letting him push her away though, was a different matter entirely and she was not allowing that. No matter how he kept trying.
Her immediate inclination was to tell him that of course he deserved her. She could list all the things about him that she loved, all the things he brought to her life, all the admirable qualities that made him a catch. He was focusing too much on the negative. But Sigyn had the feeling if she did that, he would just dig in he heels. Loki could pick the worst times to be stubborn.
So instead, she smiled down at him and said, “No, you don't. But you're stuck with me anyway. I will always be with you, Loki. Always.”
