The Replacement (tag: Njord)
His bow and quiver were slung over his back as usual, but for once, Ullr was paying them little mind. He was far too happy and distracted to even concentrate on hunting. It was a little difficult to focus when all he saw were a pair of ice blue eyes and a halo of blond hair before his field of vision. Skadhi. The beautiful woman who had recently become his wife.
His wife.
Just the thought made him beam anew. How she had ever chosen him was something he would never understand. How he had chosen this married life was almost as great a mystery. He had sworn off marriage after witnessing first hand the fiasco that defined his parents relationship. Then this great beauty of a goddess suddenly appeared in his life. While her looks had certainly turned his head, her porcelain features would never have been enough to hold his gaze. There were plenty of gorgeous women around Asgard. It was everything about her. They had the same interests, both enjoying winter's ice and snow, and the recreations it had to offer. And he'd discovered something else. Despite her reputation, she was exceptionally warm and caring. So he'd defied his own vows, and asked to exchange new ones with her. And she'd accepted, much to his astonishment.
The newly married man suddenly discovered how distracted he'd become, as he looked around in bewilderment at his surroundings. He could not recall ever becoming lost in Asgard before. He thought he knew every stretch of non-private land, which meant he may well have stumbled onto someone's personal property. He glanced at the sky, marking the sun's position. Okay, his home should be west of here. Considering the distance he had traveled, that meant he was likely near...Njord's.
Uh oh. Ullr wasn't so sure his accidental intrusion on that particular god's land would be welcome.
