It's Like Duct Tape [May 25, 1977] (tag: Zelos)
Kratos had barely been able to contain himself until they were out of the theater. Not from speaking, because everybody around he and his brother were talking about the movie. He’d joined in the comments with a few of the others as they moved toward the exit, but thus far, Zelos hadn’t said a word.
It was driving Kray crazy.
Throughout the movie, he’d had a damn hard time sitting still in his seat. From the opening battle, through the various fights, to the final explosion that nearly made him jump, Kratos had been like a live wire. Nearly vibrating with anticipation, eagerly eating up all the action, Strength had loved it all, cheering for the good guys, booing the bad guys. It had been all he could do not to yell at the screen.
And Zelos had sat there, calmly eating popcorn, slurping soda, just watching. Did he even see the same film that Kratos had? Because, man was that a great movie! So while he instinctively held doors open and made space for people smaller than he was to get out of the theater, all the while, in his head, was the question pounding over and over again. When they were finally on the sidewalk, he couldn’t keep it in any longer. It all but exploded out of him.
“Was that the best movie you’ve ever seen or what?” With those words, all the pent up energy inside him attempted to seep out of him, through muscle and bone. Kratos, big as he was, was surprisingly limber and graceful, and he half danced in front of his brother, skipping backwards so he could see his face as they made their way down the street.
“I mean, did you see that light saber battle between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader? Holy cow! What I wouldn’t give to have a light saber!” Kratos gushed, his hands curling around air, wielding an invisible weapon that, in his mind, glowed pure and blue and hummed when he moved the blade. Unconsciously, he began making little buzzing noises as he moved his hands, imagining what it would be like to fight that way, to be a Jedi.
