Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Angela and Peter Petrelli
Where: Car for now
When: Afternoon
Why: Because they need to talk.
Open: Sure?
Rating: TBD.

Cool and pristine Angela Petrelli sat in her car as her driver drove her to her younger son apartment. She knew what he wanted to speak with her about or she assumed she knew, with Peter sometimes there was no telling.

Setting back in the seat with a sigh as she looked out the window, this was not the life she wanted for her family and she had tried desperately to make them a family again. It hasn’t worked yet, but she hoped, even prayed it would in time.

She pulled her phone out of her purse and with in a few swift movement she text her son to tell him she was near. She knew he would be waiting on her. He was a loyal son and a mama's boy.

She put her phone away as she glanced back out the window. She had hoped this conversation wasn’t about her grandson for now things were going to get more complicated.

He looked over at his mother for a moment with a nod. "You heard me right. Another Petrelli, another ability." He bit his lip a little. He wondered if Simon had an ability too. He didn't know how genetics worked; that was Mohinder Suresh's department. He knew his abilities were once genetic, now synthetic since his father had stolen his ability a couple years back.

"Well, mom, don't really know what it is. I was at your place, and then he was just... there. I don't know if he can teleport or what. He touched napkins on the table and they just slipped through the wood and fell on the floor. I have no idea what kind of ability that is, and I have a hard enough time working on mine; I... he hugged me, I don't know if I can manifest his ability right now or not. I'm having some issues lately. I think. Well, I think the serum that I used a while back is changing. Mutating."

“Well…” Angela muttered to herself as she tried to think of what he could have possibly have, but when Peter mentioned he touched him her eyes widen a little.

“Darling, you do need to be careful of who you touch right now,” she informed him sternly after he confined in her of the changes as if he was a child, well in her eyes he was still her baby boy.

She was fully aware of what was happening, she did she the future after all. “Things might get a little complicated.” she sighed as she looked over at her son and lovingly she touched his cheek. “You just need some time to sort it all out, but if I were you I‘d wouldn‘t touch any powerful people with powers right now,” she warned him as she moved her hand away.

"I didn't hurt Monty." He replied just as sternly, shooting a look at his mother for a moment. "I never hurt people when I absorb their abilities, not ever..." But what if he did? What if he could kill someone by taking their abilities? What if he took their essence of life, their soul with their ability? He sunk further back in the seat of the car.

He pressed his cheek against his mothers hand for a moment, closing his eyes. "What do you mean? What's happening to me, mom? Do you know? Did you dream about something with me? Please tell me, I need to know..."

“Peter.” her voice cut through the air sharply to get his attention. “I never said you would hurt little Monty. I am just suggesting that you watch whom you come in contact with. You just stated how your powers are an unstable,” she reminded him.

Angela sighed, “I have seen things, but we both know how the dreams can change,” she pointed out for she had had many visions in the past and some have changed over time.

She laid her hand on his knee and patted it “Nothing to worry about for now, just don’t touch powerful people who you don’t already have their power.” she warned.

Peter silenced himself the moment his mother's voice rose and his eyes go right back to hers. "Yes, mom." He murmured, letting her scold him like he was ten again.

"I just thought you might have really dreamed something that I needed to know about. And... I don't know the extent of my abilities. I barely know what to do with them right now. Maybe... I shouldn't touch anyone." He moved away from his mother a little. "Including you..."

Peter was a physical person. He was an empath, and of course he was a physical person. He wouldn't be able to do his job now; not knowing if any of his patients might have an ability. He wouldn't be able to go out for fear that someone would touch his hand and if they had an ability, allowing him to absorb that power. He was going to have to be a shut in. He wouldn't be able to touch Elle. He lowered his head some, looking over at her again.

"I only injected myself to save Nathan, now he hates me."

She frowned at her son. “Peter, you already have what I have, so no need to be all dramatic.” she informed her son, but she knew he could be sensitive so she changed her tone.

“I have seen things, but always changing.” she informed him “Some have been dark, so dark, I don’t even want to discuss it.” she looked at him tiredly to prove her point. “One thing that remains constant is you flux in your abilities. If you touch new people it will add on to your frustration and you will have to struggle with more.” she sighed at the end of her little spill. “There are gloves you can wear.” she reminded him.

“Your brother doesn’t hate you.” Angel assured her youngest son. “He loves us both, just….” how could she even convey what he is “astray right now. He will come around, we just need to assure him that is family is still here. Now back to Monty, did he say if anyone else knows?”

"Oh. Right." But he'd never had a precognitive dream that he'd remembered; maybe he didn't take it, or maybe he'd lost it. Either way, he really didn't want to dream the future; he didn't want to know how it all ended. He didn't want to see people he loved in pain or dying. He didn't know how his mother dealt with it.

"I'm going to need a pair of those gloves." He nodded some. "I told Monty not to tell anyone but myself and you. I'm terrified if Nathan found out what he might do. I think its safest with Nathan and Heidi not knowing right now. Safest for Monty and the rest of our family. God forbid if someone like Sylar wanted that power. He almost killed Molly Walker, I don't know if he'd hesitate in hurting Monty. I wanted to keep it under wraps as well as I could."

She frowned not very sure if keeping Monty secret was a good idea, but she nodded her head “We shall see, he’s just a child.” she pointed out with a sigh as the pulled up to the restaurant.

The driver opened the door for her and Angela slid out of the car and walked over to her son, latched her arm to his. “So tell me about work.” she encouraged for she wanted to shift the subject to something a little more pleasant at the moment.

“How are things?” she really couldn’t think of anything normal to ask. “Seeing anyone?” she asked, trying to be motherly as they walked into the restaurant.
