Entry tags:!40 pts, keleios incantare, molly carpenter

WHO: Keleios, OPEN
WHAT: Swordplay (the real thing, not an innuendo)!
WHEN: nowish
WHERE: Rooftop of her apartment building
WARNINGS: n/a

Keleios did not know how, but she had survived the week of nightmares without becoming irretrievably lost in anyone's mind. She hadn't succumbed to the bloodlust of the sword yet, though there had been, and doubtless would continue to be plenty of monsters to kill. She moved gracefully across the roof with the sword in hand, practicing forms, and the more she practiced, the more she recited her mantras, the more certain she became that she was made to be able to survive this place.

She was Keleios Incantare, half-elven, marked by demon blood; wielder of Aching Silver. She had been to hell and back twice before. She'd do it again.

Now that the static in her head had settled to a dull roar once again, and she felt she could think clearly, Molly headed out. She needed some fresh air, and she needed a quiet place to just chill the fuck out. She had thought she might be going crazy, and she wasn't entirely sure that wasn't the case. But for the moment she felt calm and clear headed, and she wanted to take advantage of that.

She stopped short when she realised she might be interrupting someone else's quiet time. She stood still, hoping she hadn't been detected, hoping she could slink backward and out of sight before she was noticed. It wasn't that she didn't want to be seen, but she really didn't want to interrupt someone who was focused and working out her own stress.

Keleios caught a flicker of movement in the polished blade, and felt the enchanted sword give a thrum of excitement at the prospect of meeting--read: bleeding--someone new. Immediately, she shifted gears, and sheathed the weapon, latching it in the scabbard in a definitive refusal to indulge its bloodlust. If a sword could pout, this one definitely would have done so.

"Nice view from out here, isn't it?" she called, before turning around to see who it was that stood there, trying not to be noticed. Molly was very good at stealth, but Keleios had the unfair advantage of half-elven senses, so unless the young wizard was veiling all along, it would have been hard for Kel to miss someone coming up behind her. "Am I in your path? I can make way."

Molly supposed she could have thrown up a veil to mask her presence, but she hadn't. Perhaps she'd wanted to be seen, even though she told herself she hadn't wanted to be seen. She longed for someone to talk to, outside of Harry and Alex. She cared for them both, but she wasn't sure exactly where she stood with Harry and the whole agents of Winter thing they had going on back home, and with Alex so recently turned into a vampire, she felt a little awkward there too. She had no idea who or what she was faced with now, but maybe this person would turn out normal, whatever that meant.

"No, it's all right. I'm sorry to bother you," Molly stated. Her eyes flickered to the sword, then back up to the woman's face, expertly avoiding eye contact. Soulgazing was not high on Molly's list of favorite past-times.

"It's no bother," said the half-elf, pushing her hair back from her face and trying to tuck it into the braid at the nape of her neck. Her ears, slightly pointed at the apex like Tolkien's eldar, would probably give her away as less than fully human. "I've been at sword forms far too long already. I should probably let myself rest."

It wouldn't do to lose herself entirely, after all.

She stepped forward, and offered her hand, as was the human custom. "I am Keleios."

Names were power, and though Molly hesitated, she offered hers in exchange. "I'm Molly," she stated, and combined it with a slight smile. "If I'd known you were training I wouldn't have interrupted." She hadn't meant to interrupt at all. But now that she was here...

Her gaze drew to the point of an ear. She glanced away quickly, not wanting to stare. Molly looked entirely human, though she wasn't. Not any more. maybe she never was. She wasn't entirely sure, herself. But it hardly mattered. She was a wizard, and she was The Winter Lady, so she wasn't human anymore.

"All the same it's nice to meet you, Keleios."
