Oh look, Becca is introing a character. SOMETHING NEW AND DIFFERENT THAT NEVER HAPPENS AROUND HERE. Anyway this is Verity Mnemosyne Jenkins, and here are the facts:• Verity is the child of Cecilia Vance and Amycus Carrow. Her mother was a self-involved flake who couldn't deal with raising a baby and took off when Tee (the nickname by which Verity is often referred, though Verity is fine, just not Ver), was eight months old. Her aunt Emmeline raised her.
• Verity didn't know the true identity of her father until the beginning of this year. She grew up believing he was someone named Jenkins who Cecilia met on holiday during her final year of Hogwarts. She is not anxious to have people find out know that she knows and even had some records altered to get rid of the information. Which Orpington found out and used to blackmail her.
• Despite her less than ideal parentage, she has always been firmly on the side of the white hats. She was raised by an Order member, after all (though she was murdered by DEs the summer before Verity's last year at school, sadface), and has a long standing friendship with the Weasley twins. The surviving of whom she is going to be marrying in two short months! (Bonfire night is the Weasley wedding, folks, mark your calendars!) • Verity is very mischievous, as you'd have to be to be marrying George! She's bouncy, and goofy, and cuddly. She gives everyone nicknames. She often makes things explode. She tries to matchmake all of the time, (and usually poorly), (watch out, Percy, she's got her eye on you). She can be bossy and loud and annoying and think that she knows what is best for everyone, but she's so damned well-intentioned that most people like her anyway. She has a tendency to adopt stray people and care for them--and has a particular predilection for Slytherin boys much to George's horror. She's fun, really, is what it boils down to.
• Oh, she was R97. So, the same year as Katie, Audrey, Alex, and Humph. She was kind of one of Cho's giggly girls, but not really/not always. She's a bit too into marching to the beat of her own drum to follow a leader. But she loved all her dorm mates!
• George and Verity still have the flat over WWW in London, but they rented a studio in HH back in April because they want to expand their business! They were around for the murder but, because they're such Big Personalities and hard to miss, we're saying they've spent much of the last few months in London because of one thing after another at the main store. Now that the kiddies have gone back to school, they're back in HH more permanently. Friends, exes, strays she has adopted, hit me!
