Ainsley stilled somewhat in his seat. He'd thought he'd played his part quite well in the months they'd been together. Certainly in the last month or so, when he'd started having small thoughts of guilt once more, when he'd maybe ripped into throats a little more quickly, making the kill fast and relatively painless. Liam never seemed to have noticed.
"I've enjoyed it," he said, which wasn't exactly a lie. The hunger inside him was easy to get lost in when he needed to. It was the guilt afterward that he had to work hard to ignore.
