Wonderfully angsty - I love stories where we get snippets of letters, but you went one better with the letters from the boys. I really enjoyed it!

This an RP journal (I don't have an IJ personally), but...wow. Just. Wow.

They are so in character. And I love it all. So so so so so so so so so so so good. In fact, I think this one is my favorite story thus far in the HD World Cup. And it's definitely one of my favorites.

The way letters are revealed and just...it's all there.

Side question: is this link going to be permanent? Can I bookmark it and it won't disappear?

I don't know how permanent this link is, but I will be reposting the story to my lj sometime soon, and that one should be.

And you know, I do plan on doing that timestamp meme one of these days, so maybe you can request something from this story, if there's something you'd particularly like to see.

Wonderfully complex and detailed characters portrayed through the letters. I was completely engrossed and finished with a very satisfied smile on my face.

Thank you!

So very few epistolatory stories work for me. This story is definitely among those few. Two sets of correspondence, each adding a dimension to the story.

Very nicely done.

Oh, thank you so much! I take it as an extra-special compliment when this story works for someone who doesn't generally care for epistolary fics. Thank you for taking the time to let me know. ♥

Letter stories can go two ways - they can either hold you at arms length and just show you a story, or they can drag you in and get you engrossed in the unravelling of their tale.

This is definitely in the second category. And seeing it from the outside perspective of the boys' viewpoints added a lovely depth to the whole arc.

You pieced together a wonderful, moving H/D love story, wrapped around the canon/epilogue. So much pain and denial, while they try to do the 'right' thing.

The ending wove tighter and tighter, with a lovely inevitability, and a sweet finish!

Delightful!

Oh, that was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed how we only got Draco's perspective of things right up until the very end, even though Harry's side was so clear. Wonderful!

Good job with the epistolary format. I love the supremely snarky tone of Draco's first two letters, and the echoes between the two timelines, the original writing and Al and Scorpius discussing them. I like the angst in the mystery letters from 2017 and oh! Just the whole thing was great!

Best bit IMO:

1 August 1999
[...]
If I chose to do so, I assure you, I could drink you under the table and beat you at arm-wrestling while I did it.

[...]

3 August 1999

Yesterday didn't happen.

lol!

This was fantastic. I love Scorpius and Al, and having them discovering Harry and Draco's past like that is amazing.

All nines, if I could vote :). I can see why this one was getting so many recs! Wonderfully done, and you moved so brilliantly from funny to achingly sad and back again :). Loved it.
