Steve saw her coming in through the door and he immediately stood up. She looked nice. Nothing too fancy, but the teal suited her. He couldn't stop a big, goofy smile as he watched her approach and he quickly walked to meet her halfway. "Hi," he said, giving her a brief, gentle hug. He didn't want to overdo it, all kid squeezing his teddy or anything but he didn't really feel right not greeting her in some friendly way.
Okay maybe the hug was weird. He shook the thought and hurried to grab her chair and pull it out for her. "I uh, I ordered a bottle of wine, I hope you don't mind." He told her. "I just figured we could both do to have a drink." He explained with a sheepish little smile, sitting down in his chair after she was seated in her own. "Um, you look great by the way." He said, popping the cork on the red wine to pour some into both of their glasses. The alcohol would dissolve some of the nervousness between them.
