The Enlightenment was one of his favorite periods in his life. While people had strayed from his personal choice in faith, there had been such an uplifting feeling towards the situation of mankind. It was much like the renaissance before the reformation. And once he had Aimee with him, well, it had been a time of great happiness even if it had led to its ideals covered in blood from revolutions.
"The Social Contract.... ah, here it is." he said with a smile as he browsed his bookcases. Picking up two copies, one in French and one in English, he walked back over and handed them to her. "Now, I will be requiring that other book I lent you back, but these both have heavy notations in the margins. So should you have any trouble, they should help you until we meet again next week."
True these were his only copies, and he should probably read through it again before they discussed anything, but he had notes upon notes somewhere on it, along with his journals from when he had originally read it. Maybe Aimee also had a copy. It was unlikely, but possible.
