"Sorry," Rain said again to the girl she'd narrowly escaped flattening. "I'm a little excited. First day." She smiled, glad that the other student didn't seem to be miffed at her. Maybe she should pay a little more attention before she jumped the next time. Look before you leap? Yeah, something like that.
The girl went on her way, and Rain turned her attention to the winged girl who was approaching her. Wow, no way to miss this one, was there? She smelled sweet, and Rain almost wanted to look around to see if there was a cotton candy machine in the vicinity. It didn't smell like any perfume she'd ever scented before, and she thought of the comment on her journal from the girl who'd been talking about how she smelled. The one with the... very hyper typing. "Hi," she said. "I think we talked on the journals. Yeah, I'm Rain, and I'm totally brand new here."
"Is that short for something?" Rain asked, adjusting the mesh bag she wore on her back and shaking her head slightly to reposition her earrings. She loved dangly earrings quite a bit, as was evident by her jewelry box. "Kissy, I mean." She shook hands with the girl, noticing the blue nails with a smile. Trendy.
"So I'm gonna go make my special cookies in the kitchen. Wanna come with?" Rain never had a problem finding company, even if she had to gently coax them along with her.
