Thing was, he wasn't being a dick. She wanted him, she knew he was leaving, and she knew it wouldn't change anything. It seemed counterintuitive with how badly she really wanted him, but she really honestly did know these things. But he was doing this to protect her, and that was noble and respectable. She did appreciate it, even if she didn't want it.
"Um, yeah, you did," she laughed. It was good to laugh. Get rid of that tense feeling. Grabbing a slice of cake, Sydni sat down across from Charlie. Right now, that was all she wanted. Taking a bite, she couldn't help but moan. Seriously the most decadent cake she'd ever tasted. "How's the ribs?" she asked. They certainly smelled good.
Looking around, Sydni suddenly spotted something that nearly made her squee again. "Oh, a fireplace! Do you think it works?" Getting up, she went over and inspected. Looks like... Yep. She pressed a button and on it went. Not as cool as a real fireplace, but still awesome. Sitting back on her feet, she just watched the fire for a moment. Fire could be as calming to her as water.
