Week Fifteen: Tuesday
Who: Selene and Axel (or Val your choice Linda!)
When: Tuesday Night
Where: City
Emotions were a funny thing. Felt singularly they could be so strong, so intense that it could be painful to act in opposition of those feelings. Felt en masse and Selene found she had no where to go. Overwhelming as they were all she could do was sit in the midst of them. A push and a pull that led her nowhere. The proverbial one step foward one step back, though perhaps it was two steps back in her case.
She had agreed to take over the bloodlust class, in fact she'd had every intention of walking through the doors Monday morning and sitting down to teach the class but as Monday drew closer and closer, she'd found herself swallowed up in the emotions that she couldn't quite harness. The thought of that classroom where he should be was too much. She just needed some time.
Could time really change anything though? Once before she'd sat alone and wondered where he was and if she would ever see him and it had taken quite a bit longer than a week for her to pull herself from the inner most reaches of her brain and function. But she had. And she hoped now that it would take nearly as long. She had to, there were students that needed this instruction. It didn't go unmissed on Selene the struggles that many of them held. It was impossible for that to go unnoticed as those concerns and fears swirled around them. A week. That was all she gave herself to run grieve his absence and find that inner resolve that had never been quite so hidden before.
It was day two. And day two was not the prettiest of days. Selene had kept to her room for the hours that sunlight beat down unceasingly on her windows. Too bright for her to even wish to remove herself from the dark sheets she had twisted her form into. But as the sun set she had pulled herself from them and slid clean clothing onto her body. A black sheath of a dress, hair loose and wild around her shoulders. She honestly couldn't be bothered to care.
What had drawn her to the city... she wasn't sure. But it wasn't the castle and perhaps it was all the free roaming spirits through the city reveling in their little celebration. Frolicking. She found herself watching them as she moved through the dark streets, her steps slow and stalking. There was that part of her, a predator that existed in every single one of them that Selene had always denied but lost in the swirling emotions that she held it finally found purchase as her eyes moved over the people moving through the streets. So many races, each such a different pulse of energy, such a different feel from the world.
Selene finally stopped herself, eyes narrowing on individuals... a demon or two that she could exact her hatred for that current race on... she slid into the doorway of a bar appreciating the dark and less than hospitable interior she found. It fit her mood. An hour or two passed... was there any reason for her to keep track? No, not so long as the numbingly strong drinks she'd requested were sent her way. No human concoction. Curious eyes were sent her way, even in her disheveled status she didn't look the sort to frequent the bar. She paid it all no mind, they could look as they wished. Come too close however and the situation might be different.
Such was the case for one man, she smelled his demon blood a mile away and it rankled her nose. Reminded her of the one that had started them all down this path of destruction. She didn't have to meet Sergio to loathe him with every fiber of her being. This man likely had no connection to the other only half half demon as he was, but that didn't seem to matter, didn't seem to cut through the haze of her emotions. Rather.... she let her lips curve into a cold smile as he spoke to her in words that would ordinarily make her stand up and leave. Perhaps she led him on in that respect. Perhaps she stood up brushing her long legs across his and perhaps she led him out of the door and felt as though she enjoyed being the slaughter that this... 'lamb' was being led to. In the dark recesses of the alleyway, her sharp nails dug into the flesh of his skin. "Such a child you are. But perhaps if you're lucky you will get what you want..." Depended of course on what he really wanted.
He was not entirely unwilling as her teeth bit into the flesh of his neck. Though he found himself slightly more unwilling as it didn't appear as though she had plans to stop. Selene herself didn't know if she did. A fact that should have frightened her but it didn't seem to register. Whether or not she had plans to leave his form with blood still pumping through it she didn't know and whether he would put up enough of a fight to stop her was yet to be seen. Though she would bear the marks of his struggle for a short time, that much she knew. But none of it mattered. The sound of footsteps farther off than any human would hear cause Selene to yank her head up. Eyes flashing down the dark alleyway. The little halfblood demon forgotten for the moment.
