Karen couldn't remember the last time she'd been at the beach. She walked beside the river almost every day to and from work but the beach? Years. During her time sitting on the edge of the sand, she began to understand why so many people made a point to visit year after year.
If she was being honest, the last time she remembered the beach was a family vacation with her mom, dad, and brother back when she was barely a teenager. Now two of them were gone, and she was certain the other never wanted to speak to her again.
The new voice pulled her out of her thoughts, and she took a second to register his question. Smiling politely, she gave a nod. "Oh. Yes, I saw a sign on my way in before the walkway. "Snells Beach, I think? I'm sorry, it's my first time here, but I think that's what the sign said."
Not that Karen had any reference of the beach or if it was a popular location or not. Actually, because she'd ended up here almost random, she may end up having to pull out her phone in order to find her way back to where she was staying.
