Sophia's swear caught her off guard. Was she mad or bitter about getting gifts? It certainly seemed like it. "Oh," Alex responded softly. "I get some from time to time. At least a little more than most people I know." Did they ever really deny her anything? She couldn't think of the last thing they said no to but Alex usually didn't ask for anything too outlandish.
"Don't like your parents too much?" she asked when Sophia referred to them as idiots.
"Trade?" It was an intriguing proposition. What could she tell Sophia to get a secret out of her? "I am sure there are ones I could trade. Offer me something and I will give you one in trade?" she suggested; that way Alex wouldn't give up something too secret without getting something equal back in return.
"Did you just…ruffle my hair?" Alex asked, a bit scandalized. She let herself be brought to a seat position. Sophia still had her arm around her. But why? She shifted a bit nervously but tried to hide it that she was finding a comfortable spot to sit.
"Do you have a boyfriend back home?" she asked, figuring it was a safe subject.
