Brenna/Eris and Melanie/Artemis Who: Brenna/Eris and Melanie/Artemis When: Friday night Where:Cine Paris, the rooftop movie theater in the Plaka What: Watching a movie Rating: [tbd] PG-13 at present Status: Incomplete
Another night with nothing to do. Brenna was quickly becoming fed up with the lack of entertainment. Perhaps she should have booked one of those four day classical tours she'd read about. But noooo, she'd decided to stay in dirty old Athens. At least the Plaka was relatively clean even if it was overcrowded with only an hour left until midnight.
Long, lean legs carried her down Kydatheneon Street and to the Cine Paris where she began to peruse the vintage movie posters they sold by the box office. They would have been more interesting if they weren't in Greek, Brenna decided as she slid one of the more gory ones back into it's slot then worked her way to the counter to see what the showing was that night.
The early showing had been the same new release she'd seen earlier that week and she was glad she'd missed it but, to her happy surprise, the late night feature was a classic splatter flick: Maniac. With a feline-like smirk, she handed over the correct amount of euro in exchange for a ticket then started the long climb to the roof. It would be in English, thank God; that she knew but there would also be the annoyance of Greek subtitles flashing on the giant screen.
Open-aired, the theater was lit more by the flood lights and less by the stars but Brenna knew that would change once the movie started. A quick run to the concession stand and she claimed one of the green folding chairs with a Coke and some popcorn in hand. "Brilliant," the woman said to herself, getting comfortable before looking around at the handful of other people who'd worked their way off the crowded street.
Melanie had started out early that morning to get use to her surroundings and to see if any of the local zoo's had any openings that she would be interested in. Upon hearing that very few positions were open, most of which she did not want to even consider stepping foot in, she was devastated; but she wouldn't give up hope. With nothing left to really do and not wanting to head home, Melanie decided to wander the late night streets to see what there was.
With her multicolored and rather large bag around her shoulders, she glanced around at the different that littered the rather crowded streets. There was something that caught her eye and she wandered over towards the items: vintage movie posters. There were some movies that she could recognize, but there were many that she had never heard about before. Maybe there was a movie playing that she would be interested in seeing.
Placing the posters that she was looking at down, she meandered towards the counter and waited in line until it was her turn. She questioned the person behind the counter about what movies where playing, he was rather taken back by her accent and began to question her about it. Flattered as she always was, Melanie told him a little about herself, but nothing much. She was overly cautious now. Ever since she talked with that one person over the journal, she started to think twice about what she said and to whom she said it to. The earlier showing wasn't a movie that she was interested but the one that was showing later peeked her interest. She had seen it several times in the movie stores, but never bothered to watch it. Since she had nothing better to do, she bought a ticket and slithered away from the surplus of people and to the quiet sanctuary of the rooftop.
The night breeze felt good on her skin, it was a lot nicer up here. Mostly because she was away from all the people that were walking along the streets below. Melanie walked over to the concession stand and purchased a cold bottle of water and a small popcorn. She didn't have a need to buy anything else since she had a few things in her bag. Glancing at the seating arrangement, she decided to take a seat next to a woman who was sitting by herself. Tucking a few strands of her blonde hair behind her ear, she smiled at the other woman. "G'Day," Melanie said softly with a nod of her head, "don't mind if I sit here, do you?"
Brenna arched a brow at the blonde, frowning as she cast her gaze once more around the nearly empty theater. The girl could have her own row if she wanted! Green eyes flicked back to the stranger - she seemed to be a magnet for the ones who wanted company or to talk lately - and somehow, she managed to bite down a scathing remark. "Not at all," she answered, her own accent flowing. Yes, she'd taken this trip alone. Yes, she wanted to be alone but a few hours in the dark during a movie certainly wouldn't kill her. Hopefully.
Carefully, Brenna placed her popcorn and drink on the nearby matching green table then folded her arms defensively over her chest. A deep breath and she offered a small twitch of a half smile at her new neighbor before bluntly asking, "you aren't going to talk during the film, are you?"
"Thanks." Melanie replied as she got comfortable in her chair and looked forward at the screen. If she had known what the other woman was thinking, she would have made her way to the other side of the theater. Then it was a good thing that she wasn't able to read peoples thoughts. Reaching into her bag, she pulled out a small plastic bag filled with some grapes and put one into her mouth.
She turned her head towards the woman and smirked a little. "I promise to be so quiet that you wont even know that I am here." Melanie bit onto her bottom lip and gave the woman a quick wink before turning towards the screen and placed a few more grapes into her mouth. Even if she did want to talk, the way the woman had composed herself made her feel slightly intimidated. It would be best not to upset her.
A small blink of surprise was Brenna's response to the girl's playful wink but she tried to think nothing of it as she turned her own eyes back to the blank screen and waited, silently, for the movie to start. Popcorn was picked up piece by piece, almost daintily and the woman shifted a couple of times even as she cast a few sidelong glances at her neighbor. The girl wasn't the type she'd expect at such a film; then again, Brenna supposed she wasn't the type many people expected to find alone in a dark theater waiting for blood to flow.
"You know that this movie is quite gory, yes?" she asked unexpectedly. It wasn't as if she was breaking her own rule, though; the film hadn't started just yet. A few words exchanged beforehand wasn't bad and part of her - oddly - felt the need to at least make sure the blonde was aware of what she was getting herself into.
Slowly she turned her head towards the woman next to her, a look of slight shock on her face. She wasn't expecting her to talk because of the rule that she had enforced, but she was happy to know that she was at least somewhat willing to talk with her. The question was rather funny, she wanted to laugh about it, but she bit her bottom lip and took in a deep breath to push the laughter down. Carefully she turned so that she was facing the woman and leaned towards her a little, so that she didn't have to talk too loud.
"Yes, I do know that it is a gory movie." She smiled a little more and took a sip of her water. Her head tilted to the side a little and she tucked some of her hair behind her ear. "I guess I don't look like the sort that would come see this kind of movie, but I like them. Suspenseful ones are nice as well.." Shrugging a little, she turned to sit in her chair correctly.
Brenna snorted in a very unladylike fashion before starting to pick at her popcorn again. "A mind reader, are you? Good thing that's come out early. Now, I can make sure to shield my thoughts in case any potentially embarrassing ones float to the surface." She gave the other woman a long, heated look up and down, pausing her gaze at certain key points and with another Cheshire cat smirk, focused on the snack in her lap.
Making people uncomfortable, Brenna found, was the best way of putting them off. Yes, she'd initiated the conversation this time but that was only to make sure the girl wasn't going to scream her lungs out during the film or worse, attempt to find some comfort from the darker-haired woman. Of course, if the situation were different, there were times Brenna wouldn't mind a rather striking blonde with baby blue eyes trying burying her face in the crook of her neck... She shook that thought off immediately and attempted to clear it away from good by drowning it with a long draw of cola.
Melanie was able to feel Brenna's eyes on her, it was almost like a burning pleasure that she had never felt before. It caused her face to flush a little, but she wasn't going to let it bother her and cause her to back down. "I don't mind if anything unexpected comes from your beautiful lips.." Melanie grinned some more, she wanted to tease the dark haired woman beside her, but she didn't know how she would react. It was best to know her boundaries before she accidentally stepped over a like that she shouldn't.
Unscrewing the cap of her water, she took a drink but kept her eyes on the woman next to her. Screwing the cap back on, she let her pale eyes linger over her form - imagining what she would look like with less clothing. This thought caused her to nibble on her bottom lip and blush slightly more. She turned to face forward once more, mostly to calm herself down and to stop any unwanted arguments from happening. Hopefully if things went well, they would be able to see each other again. Melanie reminded herself to refrain from doing anything that would make this beautiful woman unhappy.
Well, that was... unexpected. But, not unpleasantly so. Brenna's almost devious smirk grew as she watched the other woman out of the corner of her eyes; the way Australian Barbie reacted - what was with everyone complementing her lips lately? - had her own body going tight with the delicious possibilities. Just because she hadn't come to Greece actively seeking a bed-mate certainly didn't mean she wouldn't accept should the opportunity present itself. And the Aussie was far better at the game than the American she'd slapped at the taverna.
Leaning closer to the blonde, Brenna stopped only a whisper from her ear before issuing a warning, deep and low on a warm breath. "Be careful the open-ended invitations you offer, sweetheart. My mouth is capable of far more than you ever dreamed of." A sound, something akin to a purr, echoed from the dark woman's throat as she settled back down into her own seat, one brow arched suggestively but confident. There was something about this girl, something familiar but not. An innocence but one that balanced on a very sharp edge. Brenna's tongue flicked over her lips, wetting them, as the desire to possess the fair creature next to her began to swell.
