The petite woman's eyes fluttered open as the song faded. "Don't stop, Sugar," Chloe encouraged, keeping her seat though she reached into her pocket once more then flipped another coin in his direction. "You've got quite the gift and I'd love to hear more if you don't mind sharing another song or two."
She wasn't sure how or why the music soothed her, just that it did and with everything that had been happening, with Anne, especially, she needed that balm to keep her sane. All the conflicting emotions, the visions that ranged from dancing naked, heavy with child in a field to being run through with a sword, left her weary but unable to settle into a solid night's sleep. Even her indulgences - weed, alcohol - did nothing to help but this music... this boy's songs lifted her out of the chaos.
