Re: INSIDE THE BALLROOM
Teagan's eyes widened when he rose his voice. This was not the place and her eyes darted around to make sure he hadn't drawn attention to them. No one seemed to be paying them any attention, which Teagan was relieved about. She hated being on guard like she was, but she couldn't help it. Her arms crossed over her chest, she looked back at John with a frown. She was tempted to point out how contradicting he was. He was her friend, so in a way, he should want what is best for her anyway. But she knew that wasn't his point. His point was that he knew he couldn't force her to anything she didn't want to. He'd have hell to pay if he tried and she had no idea how to exact revenge for such a thing, but she would find a way.
Sighing, she dropped her arms and stepped toward him again. "Can we just dance and forget all this?" she asked in a quiet voice. She didn't want to argue with him, which is exactly what they both seemed to be gunning for. She wanted to enjoy her night with him, to dance with him, and even to press her luck and tease and flirt with him when the mood fit her.
